Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 uses horizontal dynamic resolution with temporal reconstruction, which has also been the case with prior entries in the series. For the first time, however, it’s possible to modify the Field of View (FOV) on all platforms, including PS4, all the way up to 120. In the comparison footage seen above, it is set to 90.
The PS5 version features better shadows, ambient occlusion, LOD, anisotropic filtering and some higher resolution textures compared to the PS4 and PS4 Pro version. The quality and performance seen on the PS4 and PS4 Pro is very similar to that of the Call of Duty Modern Warfare (2019). Based on the game’s graphical makeup, it’s a cross-gen game that has been developed with the limitation of the previous-gen consoles in mind.
In terms of performance, the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 beta currently does not have offer a 120fps mode for PS5. The game runs at 60fps on Sony’s current-gen machine, regardless of whether you play at 60hz or 120hz. Meanwhile, the performance is slightly uneven in the PS4 version. In some areas, it fails to hit its target frame rate of 60fps.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare II is the sequel to Call of Duty Modern Warfare, which was released in 2019. On October 25, 2019, the latter was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It is the sixteenth installment in the Call of Duty series and a reboot of the Modern Warfare sub-series.
